GitHub Pages CRUD

Create, read, update, and delete public Guide pages without confusing canonical sources, generated output, deployment, or verified public state.

Layer model

Canonical Markdown→Guide source→Generated _site→Actions artifact→Public URL

CRUD operations

Create

Create governed meaning and page sources, connect navigation, build, deploy from main, and fetch the new public URL.

Read

Name the layer being read: canonical Markdown, Guide source, generated output, or the exact deployed public URL.

Update

Change the smallest authoritative source, regenerate the whole site, publish, and verify the updated public content.

Delete

With explicit destructive scope, remove the source and all references, rebuild, deploy, then verify the old and replacement routes.

Completion boundary

Source changed→Built→Validated→Committed→Pushed→Deployed→Public content verified

Each state requires its own evidence. Editing or deleting _site/ is never a CRUD operation on canonical Pages content.

Authority rule: canonical Markdown and Guide sources govern. GitHub Pages is the verified, derived human interface.
Repository rule: Pages-enabled Workbench, implementation, and consumer repositories update the public workspace in the same completed work cycle whenever its represented project state would otherwise become stale. Open Repository Binding.
